Cutting down trees with squirrels nesting?

I live in UK.

I have a 40ft row of conifers in my garden which have been a squirrel home for several years. Unfortunately I must have these trees cut down. I am really worried about having to evict the squirrels. When do they have their young, would it be around now? What will happen to them all? Will they have to fight with other squirrels locally to find somewhere new to nest? OK, I know they're only squirrels, but they've never done me any harm and I do worry about the little guys. Please advise!Cutting down trees with squirrels nesting?
The Grey Squirrel is not protected,so you can cut down your trees as any young will be taken by the parents to another safe place.

But please check that no late breeding birds have a nest in them,or else you could be in trouble.Cutting down trees with squirrels nesting?
Squirrels give birth twice a year, in January-April and

in August-September. There are 2-4 babies per litter. The

babies are self-sustaining at about 12-14 weeks of age and will leave

the nest area in search of their own territory

If you want them to remain in or around your garden, put up some nesting boxes elsewhere before you cut down the trees also put out food for them, if food is plentiful and nesting is easy they will stay around.

Also see:www.squirrels.org this may answer some other questions or give information you need
If they are grey, you are allowed to shoot them.people are also starting to eat them these days.we need to save the red,get rid of the aggressive grey.bon appetite
I have seen a couple of young squirrels running around my garden, presume they have finished by now. You are so kind to worry about them, i also like squirrels.
I think they will be able to find another home. They can still mate now, just make sure you don't cut down the trees while they are in it.
Grey squirrels are vermin only worry about red squirrels
as long as they are grey squirrels then there is no problem. Any young will be long gone by now anyway.
i hope they find a new home but you could ask a wildlife rescue for the answer to your question they would no
