Do squirrels make nests?

I just answered a question about a girl wanting to knock down a squirrel's nest in her tree. How is it that I've lived 37 years and never knew squirrels made nests? I thought they lived in holes in trees or empty logs and such. Do they really build nests llike a bird??Do squirrels make nests?
Yes, they do. WIth the remains of a sleeping bag in the crotch of a tree in my brother's front yard, no less.Do squirrels make nests?
Yes, they are rodents, mice make nest as well, for the young.
They moved my desk 4 times already this year and I used to be over by the window and I could see the squirrels and they were married.
Yeah, I gave you a thumbs down for making such an ignorant comment. SQUIRRELS MAKE NESTS. they look like a big ball of sticks in a tree, really high up. Easiest to see them in winter.
In the third verse of Annie's Song, John Denver sings about squirrels in nests.

Yes, they do indeed!

.
yes they do,but they also make those nests in holes in trees
Yes they do and they are really big at times
not as organized as birds but they do make nest. It looks like a mice nest. It is a ball of stuff they collect.
Squirrels do make nests in trees with twigs and leaves. usually the nest it up high and at a fork in branches. They also will use natural holes and things up in the trees. they will also make a nest in your attic insulation if they can get in under your roof. Squirrels are rodents and most rodents make some sort of nest.
Yes they build nests most conspicuously of leaves. Don't feel bad asking questions is how we learn. Those that think they have the answers are to be pitied.

T4
Yes, they do make nests. It's not as nice as a bird's nest, but it's similar.

See? You're never too old to learn something new.
yes
They do both actually, living in nests and hollows of logs/trees.

Look up in the trees in the winter and you'll probably see several squirrel nests.
It may not be as well designed and engineered as well as a bird's. I think it just bed lining and cushion as opposed to lying on the cold, solid wood.
probably they have kids too you kno!
Both

They can live in holes in rotted out trees

and they will buld large nest for spanish moss and twigs.
They do in-fact have nests

sometimes you can see them up high in trees, you problem have seen them but think they are birds nests as they do look exactly the same.
yes they do, they can make nests in trees too but most of the time thats where they keep nuts, on top of burying them in the ground. they also bark not quite like a dog but it is definatly a bark
YES

No, they may take shelter in an abandoned nest, but they do not build them.
YEA THEY DO
yes the do. they make nests or (nesting points) in holes in the bark of a tree. They store food there and insulate with branches leaves etc.
Answer is yes. I have 3 Maples in my front yard. All 3 have nests, and Ive seen the young squirrels
